We've not had one of these since 2013 so never got to recap & Upgrade one before, if here was our chance. As Our Review page tells, this is probably the Last of the Classic Sony & still has that Rich Detailed sound the 1960s Sony have.
As Upgraded it fits into the 40w amp range with 28v Clean Sine Output, the 35w rating in the Manuals is for the limited Bass of the original design that we've upgraded.
Power Supply has 15000µf Main Caps & as this was our one to try, the other stages got upgraded more than usual. Can't keep them all if this Amp may look less impressive inside than the TA-1120 or TA-1130 the design is still a good one, no cost cutting here yet as 1971.
Mains Socket is the 'Kettle' type of plug as was used into the 1990s, we'll supply a New Cable. 4mm Speaker Sockets we added as the Screw original ones were awkward. Rear shows Pre Out-Main In sockets with a switch instead of the 2 short joining cables. Multivoltage 110-240v model. Power Lamp is now a correct-type LED bulb.
High Grade fascia a "9", top lid has a few minor marks as typical. Great Reliable Amp with the Classic Sony Sound with our Upgrades. These amps are getting Very Overpriced on ebay for "raw" original amps as Buy-Now, ours here is recapped & upgraded & priced to please.
A medium sized amp 400mm wide x 160mm high x 286mm deep if 320mm Max Depth inc fittings.
THE AMP ITSELF WEIGHS ABOUT 9.7KG
