1962 LUX - LUXMAN HQ-32 RECEIVER

IN COMPLETE HIGH GRADE EXTERNALLY. NOT REBUILT

1962 10w INTO 15 OHM, SO LIKELY 15w INTO 8 OHM

HIGH GRADE VISUALLY, COMPLETE, NO PARTS MISSING OR DAMAGED. WE CLEANED IT UP INSIDE & OUT. WE HAVE TESTED IT ON 120v, BUT IT'S A 100v JAPAN MODEL.

THE CIRCUIT DIAGRAM ETC IS ON THE BASE COVER & PART OF OUR 15th PICTURE.

IT HAS **NOT* BEEN REBUILT, RESTORED OR RECAPPED. IT'S AS ORIGINAL BEYOND ONE 12AX7 MISSING (but included) AS IT WAS WHITED OUT IF NOT CRACKED.

ON 120v MAINS VIA A STEP-DOWN TRANSFORMER, WE READ 305v ON THE HT OUTPUT CAPACITORS & ABOUT 8v ON THE HEATERS. IT COULD BE REDESIGNED SUBTLY WITH RESISTORS TO BE USEABLE ON 120v. IT SHOULD RUN ABOUT 285v ON 100v. WE TESTED IT WITHOUT THE FOUR OUTPUT VALVES & IT READ GOOD VOLTAGES. THE MAIN CAPACITORS READ WELL, IF THE LAST STAGE GREY CAPACITORS ARE BAD & THE STRAY 50v MEANS THE BIAS NEEDS REPAIRING. IF YOU RUN IT WITH THE OUTPUT VALVES, ONE OR MORE CAN GLOW BRIGHT AS BIAS IS WAY WRONG, SO WE TESTED IT WITHOUT THESE VALVES IN. WE COULD EASILY PUT A £1500 JOB INTO THIS PLUS ANY VALVES, BUT AS IT'S 100v WE'LL SEE IF ANYONE WANTS IT "AS-IS".

GREAT LOOKER AS A HIFI ORNAMENT OR MUSEUM PIECE. THIS IS THE FIRST LUXMAN HIFI RECEIVER FROM 1962. 13.6KG WEIGHT SHOWS THE QUALITY. THE FRONT LIGHTS UP A SINGLE BULB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TUNER WINDOW. SPENT HOURS CLEANING & TESTING THIS, SO TO SELL IS JUST COVERING COSTS.

THE TX SHOWS "100v" AS THE AC INPUT. THE "120v" IS THE AC OUTPUT TO THE POWER SUPPLY. IT IS A FIXED 100v AC MAINS POWERED MODEL IF CAN BE REDESIGNED.

INCLUDES THE BASE SCREWS WITH WASHERS PLUS THE OLD WHITED VALVE, NOT IN PHOTOS. HAS LONG 2-CORE ORIGINAL MAINS WIRE & AN ADDED ADAPTOR PLUG LEFT IN.

IDEALLY TO SELL TO JAPAN, IF THERE WON'T BE MANY ABLE TO REBUILD AN AMP LIKE THIS. FATE WILL DECIDE WHAT HAPPENS.

A medium-large sized amp 473mm wide x 120mm high x 328mm deep if 378mm Max Depth inc fittings.

THE AMP ITSELF WEIGHS ABOUT 14KG

THIS AMPLIFIER HAS BEEN FULLY SERVICED, CLEANED, CHECKED VISUALLY BY TAKING APART, RUN IN FOR HOURS AS WELL AS USED BY US!

WHY PAY EXTRA FOR A SERVICED AMPLIFIER WHEN OTHERS ARE CHEAPER?

All amplifiers & receivers we sell as "SERVICED" means they have always been CLEANED, CHECKED, FULLY TESTED, FULLY ADJUSTED, USED FOR MANY HOURS and are offered as good reliable amps ready for you to use. We've sold over 100 Amplifiers & Receivers now & buyers are clearly pleased with the item they get! A Serviced Amplifier is a Reliable Amplifier & will have had any problems dealt with before we sell it. Our checking is way beyond a basic PAT test, each amp is taken apart & examined. We are Qualified Electronics Engineers with over 20 years experience of Amplifiers. All amps over 20 years old need servicing as parts need attention to work properly or faults, failures, damage, noisy operation and unreliability may be present. Any faults we can repair & our work is of a very high quality. On each listing we put at least 12 large clear photos of all aspects of the item including the insides.

This is a Vintage Electrical item. No Warranty or Guarantee is offered or implied but be assured we have Serviced & Tested it to a very high standard before sale.
