1978 MARANTZ 1072 AMPLIFIER
IN DECENT VISUAL & GREAT WORKING CONDITION. 25W. SERVICED & RECAPPED WITH UPGRADES READ MORE ON OUR "HIFI REVIEWS" PAGE New Style of Build for a 1978 Marantz, much copied by the Early 1980s for the Selector 'ribbon' & Inputs direct to the Board. Streamlined Design if still the Classic Marantz Sound. Much the same as the Marantz 1072 36w we had recently, this just a 25w version that has enough power still on suitable Speakers, such as 95dB Tannoys. Recapped with Upgrades, 10000uf Main Caps. Typical Amp Size width if less deep. Would still fit in the Wood Cases you can buy as Repros. All Works great. Decent Sound in Marantz style if was £84 new in 1980 so not in the higher or earlier range quality if far from their mid 1980s thin sounding style. Plays Clean with Decent Bass & Good Treble. Better than you'd expect, as it's still a 1978 model. Condition is Decent, only a slight markings on the fascia top middle edge over 'M' & 'R' and right of 'Loudness' that's not too noticable, 8/10. Nice Corners, minor left edge mark. Top Lid is nice. The base is Hardboard, 1978 Technics did similar, base has a corner repair that's solid & the foot can be unclipped still. Multivoltage works fine, the Input Mains cable the 3 core original one, it's not a plug in type, just their fitting style. A smaller-medium sized amp 416mm wide x 158mm high x 242mm deep if 270mm Max Depth inc fittings if not the mains wire. THE AMP ITSELF WEIGHS ABOUT 7KG
