Multivoltage 117v/230v. You Never See Valve Receivers Rebuilt & Upgraded to this Quality as it's an Advanced Job & Needs bringing to a Useable Standard & not be the Usual Flabby aged weak Valve Sound. This is Crisp & Lively, a decent Bass & no Noise Or Crackles.

It's to a 'Use Daily' Quality & one we Rebuilt For Ourselves to see how good it can be. Done to a Higher Standard than we'd do a Rebuild for a Customer simply as we go further & it takes a lot of time to get right, which Outprices it.

Has a mix of Valves, the EL84/6BQ5 Outputs the previous owner replaced & they work fine. The ECC83 other ones are a mix of JJ ECC83S in the Phono, Matsushita original ECC83 on the Preamp-Tone & JJs on the Driver-Splitter. All set to work right & not Crackle.

All Good in 'Use Daily' quality & we used it over Xmas 2022 on Speakers where it sounded great & behaved well. Used it again a few days before typing this & all good.

**NOW UPGRADED** to give a more Punchy Sound than before, sounds much more lively. Tuner FM now works Full Range with the New Valve (NOS) & sounds great, could be fine tuned to Align tighter if that took hours before. The Adjust Ferrites have a Metal Screw so easier to use than the Core type ones. To adjust by Ear & FM Meter is possible. LEDs fitted to not Flicker & highlights the Text on the window better than the dingy brown lights look in Home Use. Pics show it more like as LEDs as desk light on Tuner window.

Outer Case in Nice Condition, Inside aged as they usually are for 1965 Vintage. Has all correct fittings & screws. Correct 2 grille lines lid. Nothing Repainted or Lacquered. Fitted with Modern 4mm Speaker Sockets & 3 core Mains Cable. The Phono Sockets |-| suit modern cables, not the wider /-\ style ones Sansui still use. Very Minor Fascia Lettering Loss as shown.

For 15w it's suited to Higher Sensitivity Speakers, like our 95dB Tannoys. Here the Volume at about 1/3 of the Volume Rotation is good enough for TV Waching & using Tone Gain it plays great. Not for cranking up loud, you need at least 30w in Valves for that. Using it on low sensitivity speakers like 82dB-86dB is no good, you need Higher Sensitivity. 15w we consider the Minimum to be Useable.

Testing it on our 'Power Ratings' Test it reads 18v Clean Sine which is healthy for a 15w rating(into 15 ohm) easily an 18w into 8 ohms.

The Tuner does Work. New Valve fitted gives FM & AM the full run of the Tuner Dial. Does play Stereo if could be Aligned more Precisely, FM Stereo light does work if not always on playing Stereo. More use shows the FM is better than expected, Stations pick up well, it needs a stronger Antenna than what a 'T' one can do unless sited optimally. AFC switch betters it.

The Volume Control isn't perfect, but not rough. At 'Min' Volume it still has the music slightly audible, in use it's no bother so hardly worth putting a 500k Stereo Loudness Tapped Pot in as there are none to find. 100k ones are findable, but Valve amps have a different impedance using 500k-1Meg Volume & Tone pots.

The Bass Control had the end bits cracked off, we've made this a solid repair drilling the splined bits to hold solid & a deeper groove in the part into the amp. It rotates well & is strong, but still repaired & the plastic knob still removes. Who has a 500k Lin Pot to replace it with, unfindable.

All is otherwise Good in Use. Very Nice Clean Sound on this Valve Amp. It's the 'Early' one with the two Hum Adjust Pots for the Phono. Later ones omitted these, added one pot inside by the TX & messed with the Bias in a less good design.

To say it's the Best Rebuilt one on the Planet, you can see for yourself.

A larger sized amp 444mm wide x 146mm high x 376mm deep if 420mm Max Depth inc fittings.

THE AMP ITSELF WEIGHS ABOUT 16KG

THIS AMPLIFIER HAS BEEN FULLY SERVICED, CLEANED, CHECKED VISUALLY BY TAKING APART, RUN IN FOR HOURS AS WELL AS USED BY US!
