Multivoltage 117v/230v. A Rare 1966 Pioneer, this is a Hybrid Valve-Nuvistor-Transistor amp
. A Model that wasn't around for long as the All-Transistor SX-1000TDF came along. The Tuner Front End is a Valve & two Nuvistors, the Rest is a Silicon Design throughout.

The SX-1000 range firstly is the 1965 SX-1000T which is mostly Germaniums. Then this 1966 TA version, the TDF one by 1967 & the TW one by 1968-69 which is found mostly.

An Excellent Unit here, Quiet in Use even in 3am Quiet. A Strong Tuner picking up FM Stereo with Ease & one of the Best Sounding Tuners making Compressed FM Stations sound much cleaner. The Valve & NuVistor Tuners are Quality if not used past 1966 as FETs & ICs came in. This section HT is 100v-110v.

SOUND QUALITY is Exceptional, a Smooth Clean Crisp Sound. The later Pioneer 1967-69 era weren't as Sweet Sounding as this (or the SX-600T).

UPDATED: Since put in Tone-Pre & Phono boards that we had done New Resistors for a later SX-1000TDF that uses the same boards, the early W15-006 Tone. Does Sound Great, Clean, Crisp & Bassy, if we have other Pioneer. Pre-Tone has Upgrades to have it more Punchy sounding. The Power Amp would take many hours to Rebuild & no Track Layout for this early 'TA' version, so not done to keep the Price Sensible.

MORE UPDATED: Fitted 4mm Speaker Sockets. Those Pioneer Plugs are awful to Use & probably why it sat Unsold, as Unliked as DIN sockets we reckon.

Great Clean Precise Crisp & Rich sounding on Speakers, one of the Cleanest sounding on Headphones. Certainly a Bargain for The Sound Here. A Very Sweet Sounding Receiver that has enough power at 40w. One we'd like to keep, if generally the 'Difficult' ones get kept until they behave, or not.

A Smaller Sized Amp, the later TW case you can buy in USA that suits this, see our Solds Gallery for one. Small But Mighty. Has the Pioneer Speaker Plugs in the Original Sockets, these ones hold firmly. For One set of Speakers on this Early Model.

All Recapped with Upgrades. The Valve-Nuvistor 180v supply recapped from the tricky Double Can way to our way. Doubt you'll find one done properly like this.

In Nice Condition as you can see. The Top Lid is with a few marks as it came from a SX-1000TDF that we parted. The one that came with this was glossy repainted & has a small-ish dent mid top, you can have either. All the Correct Fascia & Rear Fittings plus Original Speaker plugs, the odd edge chip to the Plug Blocks no problem in use, you add Fork 'Y' Connectors to the Speaker Wires to fit tidily. Rewired with 3 Core Mains Cable.

To not Outprice this, it's Recapped on All Boards except Tuner, the boards underneath look like other 1967 Pioneers on our 'Solds Gallery'. Power supplies recapped with Upgrades. Certain old 0.7 ohm resistors left as original as they test good. Top Lid is fully Black so the camera makes it brighter than Daylight.

A medium sized amp 405mm wide x 132mm high x 307mm deep if 340mm Max Depth inc fittings.

THE AMP ITSELF WEIGHS ABOUT 11KG

THIS AMPLIFIER HAS BEEN FULLY SERVICED, CLEANED, CHECKED VISUALLY BY TAKING APART, RUN IN FOR HOURS AS WELL AS USED BY US!

WHY PAY EXTRA FOR A SERVICED AMPLIFIER WHEN OTHERS ARE CHEAPER?

All amplifiers & receivers we sell as "SERVICED" means they have always been CLEANED, CHECKED, FULLY TESTED, FULLY ADJUSTED, USED FOR MANY HOURS and are offered as good reliable amps ready for you to use. We've sold over 100 Amplifiers & Receivers now & buyers are clearly pleased with the item they get!
