1971 SONY STR-6055 RECEIVER
IN VERY HIGH VISUAL GRADE & GREAT WORKING CONDITION. 40W. SERVICED & RECAPPED WITH UPGRADES READ MORE ON OUR "HIFI REVIEWS" PAGE Unusual to get one in this High Grade, it's as bright & crisp as it was New in 1972. The Fascia is Unmarked so it's as near a 10/10 as you'll get. The top front edge is so smooth & no lettering loss on the wording. A Rare find this nice. Look how tidy the inside is too. It still is 52 years old so best to Recap. Multivoltage Block 110v-240v, plus the UK version with the 5 fuses board. The Top Lid as as good as you'll find, easily a 9/10. All fittings similarly High Grade. The rear antenna looks as good, if the strap bits often crack as it can be stored with the rod part near the 4 left connectors, it's been glued to be tidy if not totally solid. The Multivoltage Cover oddly is a bit cloudy, used to get B&O Beomaster controls like this. Comes with recent Black Moulded Plug cable. Has a 6.3mm Stereo Jack Socket on the Front as "Aux 2" to plug in Modern Devices via a suitable cable. The 1971 era Sony are a bit underrated, this has a crisper sound & still is made heavily like earlier Sony, 12kg weight. We've had several of these now, this our best grade one. Must have been used for a short time & then wrapped & boxed away, usually these look more aged from Attic or other storage. The Tuner on the STR-6055 is a new version from the STR-6120 & STR-6200 versions, having Ceramic Filters it's a very good tuner. Recapped on all but Tuner, the Preamp-Tone, Phono & Power Supply all recapped if not so easy to photo. Crisp set of earlier 'flat head' screws like earlier Sony had. Has modern feet on the base, this came without any, maybe it was built into a cabinet like Quad & Leak got in earlier years. A larger sized amp 440mm wide x 143mm high x 312mm deep if 360mm Max Depth inc fittings not including the Mains cable. THE AMP ITSELF WEIGHS ABOUT 12KG
