High Grade example of this cute 1968 Trio-Kenwood Amplifier. Out in early 1969 so a 1968 design with great looks after the rather average looking 1967-68 amplifiers with the Black fascia. This came before the KA-6000 that was only around by 1970. High Quality Amp made to a High Standard that soon faded away. KA-4000 numbering comes from earlier ideas of '40w Music Power' so call it the 4000 as the TK-80U was a 32w, 40w MP so 40+40 = 80.

240v - 120v Multivoltage.

Great Sounding Amp here, clean lively precise sound with decent Bass for our Upgrades. Very Well Made Amp here. High Grade on this one is unusual, probably why we've not found a nice one before. All Adjusted on Bias & Midpoint voltage, with all Bulbs working, not LEDs.

High Grade with Crisp Control Knobs. Amp looked never opened by untouched dust inside when we got it. Only lacks the Rear 'Pre Out-Main In' original connectors, these are the ones it arrived with. These short connectors often went missing, maybe why it has had little use in 56 years. Fascia is 9.5/10 with just a few tiny knocks on the top edge. Wood sides are High Grade as they arrived.

Has the two metal cans inside covering the Power Amp & Phono plug in boards, these show on the Top Lid Photo, pic 7, some minor aging from being open via the grille squares.

In Use on Headphones, no Noises on turn-on or off. Lever switches are quiet, no loud clicks, just a tiny noise on using the Filters as you'd expect. On Speakers Turn On gives a small 'rustle' noise, typical of earlier Amps. Turn-Off gives no noise. On Filters a small click. Compared to the later KA-6000 this one behaves properly.

Speaker Connectors are Posts with a 2.5mm-ish hole that screws onto the bare wires.

A medium sized amp 410mm wide x 134mm high x 272mm deep if 304mm Max Depth inc fittings if not including the Pre Connector wires that add about 60mm.
