One of The Last Trio-Kenwood without ICs, only the KR-7200 is similar. By 1973-75 ICs were what Trio relied on which is a Pity as lots of Good Ones amid their 1963-72 Range.

Condition is a High Grade Fascia & Controls. The Wood Lid has some issues at the Rear Top Edge & Rear sides if overall we smarted it up nicely. Inside we sprayed the Transformer as paint was very thin. All Rear Fittings good. 3 Core Mains Rewired as Usual.

Trio only started Power Amp Differentials in the 1971-72 & with a Relay we found it a Fascinating amp. Did get a Parts KR-5200 with no Lid or Base, to see the Quality was Good so to Snap This One Up. Pity Trio didn't do Higher Power ones until later, but they knew their Market. Very Different to the 1970 Trio KR-6170 we have, this has the New Design like the Trio KA-6004 amp. A good one to use, if we can't keep them all.

Design has a Triple Tone Control, Bass & Treble & also Midrange that helps match Speakers better, some need a bit less Midrange we've found on our Tannoys. Not many Brands beyond Marantz have this. Plug In Power Amp like the KA-6004. 22000µf Main Capacitors fitted. Original Output Transistors. New Set of Filament Bulbs fitted. AC Bulbs HT means LEDs would Flicker & the 3 Bulbs are Bayonet Type ones on this model. Tuner Wheel Post near the Volume we repaired inside, Glue & Metal Bits melted in to be Strong, see pic. Small Dent on Base Cover, could be Flattened out better.

Nice Sounding Reliable 50w Receiver, a good one to have known.
Phono Good, FM Stereo plays Strongly, in Stereo a lot with 'Stereo' lit. AM works.

A mid-larger sized amp 423mm wide x 140mm high x 340mm deep if 385mm Max Depth inc fittings.

THE AMP ITSELF WEIGHS ABOUT 14KG

THIS AMPLIFIER HAS BEEN FULLY SERVICED, CLEANED, CHECKED VISUALLY BY TAKING APART, RUN IN FOR HOURS AS WELL AS USED BY US!

WHY PAY EXTRA FOR A SERVICED AMPLIFIER WHEN OTHERS ARE CHEAPER?

All amplifiers & receivers we sell as "SERVICED" means they have always been CLEANED, CHECKED, FULLY TESTED, FULLY ADJUSTED, USED FOR MANY HOURS and are offered as good reliable amps ready for you to use. We've sold over 100 Amplifiers & Receivers now & buyers are clearly pleased with the item they get! A Serviced Amplifier is a Reliable Amplifier & will have had any problems dealt with before we sell it. Our checking is way beyond a basic PAT test, each amp is taken apart & examined. We are Qualified Electronics Engineers with over 20 years experience of Amplifiers. All amps over 20 years old need servicing as parts need attention to work properly or faults, failures, damage, noisy operation and unreliability may be present. Any faults we can repair & our work is of a very high quality. On each listing we put at least 12 large clear photos of all aspects of the item including the insides.
